Six months of work by students in China prefaced the announcement of the winners of this year's Car Design Awards China, held at a glittering ceremony in Shanghai just prior to the opening of the Shanghai auto show. The judges were highly complimentary about the quality of entries and the rapid progress in design terms being seen in student work in China. Judges comments
"Mature development and beautiful presentation, a most professional submission," was the comment about one of the leading entries.

Porsche GB has issued a rather cool video detailing the history of the 911 RS models – filmed in situ at the new Porsche Experience Centre in Silverstone.Unlike most corporate videos, this one is remarkably free of commercial sells – although we should remember its presenter will be a tad biased! But we're posting it here because we reckon it's a great video guide to the most hardcore of 911s, tracing the history of the lightweight Renn Sport specials all the way back from the 1973 original up to the present day.>> Rip-off or rip-rorting? BMW will be presenting its new concept, the BMW Concept Active Tourer, at this month's Paris motor show as part of the ongoing development of the BMW brand and its model range. With a length of 4,350 mm, a width of 1,834mm and a height of 1,560mm, the wedge-shaped BMW Concept Active Tourer targets the premium market along with families, and because of the car's long wheelbase of 2,670mm and a high roofline it allows for a spacious interior. The car's front face features the signature front-tilted BMW radiator grille and wraparound headlamps with two large air inlets underneath, designed to emphasize the car's width.
